Can I take Ayurvedic or herbal medicines along with my regular tablets?

Herbs and a mortar on one side and a strip of tablets on the other, with a golden question mark between them
Text:

Please tell your doctor and pharmacist about every herb, powder or supplement you take, just as you would any tablet.

Some herbs can change how prescribed medicines work, or affect blood pressure, blood sugar, bleeding or the liver. Natural does not always mean safe for everyone, especially with long-term use, in pregnancy, or alongside other medicines.

Do not stop prescribed medicines on your own. If you want to add an Ayurvedic or herbal product, talk it through with your doctor and, if possible, a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner, so they can work together.
