When should I see a doctor instead of trying lifestyle changes first?

Text:

See a doctor promptly if you have symptoms that are new, severe, getting worse or not settling, such as unexplained weight loss, blood in the stool, black stools, trouble swallowing, ongoing vomiting, a persistent change in bowel habit, or a lump you cannot explain.

In an emergency, such as chest pain, severe breathlessness, sudden weakness on one side, heavy bleeding or loss of consciousness, call 112 in India or go to the nearest hospital straight away.

Lifestyle changes are a good support for everyday health, but they are not a way to wait out a warning sign.
